haraam

haraam is an arabic term meaning "sinful". this may be the correct meaning via the wikipedia but for us, nakasanayan na na everytime may nakakaawa or anything that catches our sympathy is haram. an expression we got from ate bang. 'ay nadapa siya!' haraaaaaammmm! yun yun, ganun.

one time may pumunta sa office namin from NCC (National Catering Company <one of our contractors>), name explains it all, kung hindi parin gets, go figure. he resigned from his company and he is asking help from us if he could stay at least a little bit longer in the camp (i am working in a worker's village, a labor camp, btw) before moving out entirely out of the camp. he asked help from our staff instead of asking help from his own company. and habang ngdidiscuss about this i was looking at him and all i could think of is "haraaaaaaammm". by his looks i could say na hindi naman sa poor siya as in literal but he looked like one and i guess iniipit siya nung company niya so sa amin siya humihingi ng tulong. kawawa talaga yung itsura niya, maitim siya, hindi pogi, Indian or Sri Lankan, i do not know, tapos nung tinitignan ko pa parang gusto na niyang umiyak, e mahina ako sa ganiyan. habang tinitignan ko siya, sa awa ko gusto ko siya yakapin tas sasabihin ko sa kanya na "don't worry, everything will be okay" seryoso.

i am just thankful na without much further explanations and everything, help was very much available from our side, that our company was willing to accommodate him until he goes back to his country of origin. i decided to write this blog because i saw him just a few minutes ago and he seemed happy, no trace of somberness. i am just so glad we helped :)
