Bangtan Sonyeondan
I've been watching Korean TV shows, I thought that was my limit. I've known K-pop and heard of K-pop songs to the likes of Super Junior's Sorry Sorry, Psy's Oppa Gangnam style, 2ne1's I don't care and all that's became popular in the Philippines. And then comes BTS era. I've know about them, I've heard of them and then in 2018, they became my world.
I remember vividly, while driving on my way to work, on the radio, they were talking about BTS winning Billboard's top social artist, breaking JB's streak and then playing Fake Love. Song was good but since I wasn't interested in K-pop, I just let it slid by. Then one night, I don't know why, I tried to search for them in YouTube. Tried watching the confess sesh video on People TV. First thoughts, wow! I didn't know that K-pop artists speaks English (how dumb could I be), they all look the same (I can't differentiate Jimini from Yoongi, I thought JK was V because I found him handsome (just because I knew V was TC candler's most handsome man in 2017), I found J-hope's looks less superior than others but I immediately knew that he has a bubbly personality (little did I know that he'd be my ultimate bias and little did I know that I'd use the word bias). Then I started googling them to try and differentiate which is which. Then I started watching fan made videos once, twice and till this day, there's not a day that passes by that I don't watch a video of them. From that day I watched that People TV video, I never found the urge to stop.
Not only that they are funny and they have the personality that entices you to fall head over heels with them but the songs and their meanings are just WOW. I knew that they were not just an ordinary group because AMAZING is written and heard in all of their discographies from No More Dream to Dynamite. SPRING DAY is still my queen though. MAP of the SOUL:7, I believe is just the BEST.
I never knew how to be a fan until I start buying albums, merch and anything but not all (moneywise) related to them. I've reached a point where I would buy membership fees and
joining ARMY GCs. Unfortunately, I haven't watched their concert. That's the ultimate goal. I can die after, just kidding.
I've learned about the K-Pop world outside them, I've grown to like other artists too, NCT Dream, WayV and now TXT, no girl group's though. But nothing compares to the love I have for BTS.
I can ramble all day on how much I love them, a day wouldn't be enough, I am just so thankful that they came into my life at a low point. That's when I realized, it's true that there's always a rainbow after the rain :) Dedicating my first 2021 blog to these 7 men who saved my life.
