2020 - A blessing
2020. I do not know how to start considering the world knows how difficult this year have been, so far.
I haven't tried writing for the longest time, but thanks to my friend who accidentally found this long forgotten blog account and asked me to continue, so i thought, why not? I thought of writing about BTS, but then again i wanted to start writing again with something about a not so good topic and then something that is ALL SO good.
So, 2020. A year that will never be forgotten, one for the books, one that will be written in history but would want to be forgotten by the world.
2020 = Corona Virus, the year when for the first time in my life, the world shut down. But despite of what the year has offered the world, I consider myself blessed. So instead of stating what is already obvious, i would want to count my blessings instead.
Before the year started, I got the chance to visit the country i wanna live in, South Korea (more of this on a separate note :)). During the first quarter of the year, for the first time of my years in UAE, I went home and got to celebrate my birthday in my home country. This vacation was a busy one, got to attend one that i never thought would happen but the most beautiful wedding i have ever attended, Gian's. Got reunited with team Singapore in Baguio. Unfortunatley not everyone from Danupanz made it but we made sure to make the most of our times since we only get to see each other sometimes once or nada in a year. Funny how we bonded through long drives, shopping for pasalubongs and food trip, no alcohol included (that's how tita we are now). We talked and laughed for hours until midnight, until we fell asleep. This is one thing why 2020 has been a blessing to me.
Aside from the wedding, I went home this year with one ultimate goal, to have my family settled in our new Home :) Construction started in 2018 but due to lack of funds, it took a long time to have my family move to our new home. God willing, my last vacation was spent filling what's lacking at our new home. And before all else failed during the Corona breakout and before I flew back to UAE on the 14th, we were blessed to have moved last March 8, 2020, though still inclomplete, it was already livable. I clearly remembered the date as it was my mother's goal, because it was a full moon and 8 is a good number :)
As the outbreak became more and more evident, I secretly wished that airports would close and ban flights to the UAE so i could spend more time in the Philippines and enjoy our new home but then again, just the day before the lockdonw in Manila, I got lucky to fly back to my second home, the UAE.
The one day of self quaratine turned into 14 days then turned into almost 4 months of work from home. While the world was suffering and a lot has lost employments, I thank God for the blessing of keeping mine.
And now that we are officially back to the offices, never did i ever get this excited going to the office for work, I am more appreciative of what the blessings that God continues to bestow on me and my family.
One thing that also got me excited is a new boss. Out with old and in with the long awaited new.
A few months away before we leave 2020 behind but behind this pandemic, i hope that everyone can still see the positive it has brought the world. Thank you 2020, claiming for the gold at the end of the rainbow๐๐๐๐
